Beginners luck

I love it! As a beginner and having a Fender is ideal. I did my research because I noticed some Fenders have thick strings but the FA-100 is perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the gig bag wasn't as padded as I thought. But all in all the guitar sounds perfect, looks great and everything came in on time. I am VERY PLEASED
Perfect pack around guitar

I bought this guitar for my 14 year old daughter to be able to play and pack around figuring that it was fairly cheap and I would not be worried if it accidently got scratched, damaged, or abused when camping or at the river, etc.

Great low cost instrument

After many years of thinking about it, I finally decided to actually pick up the guitar so received a hand me down Sigma from the 70's and started plucking away. After a few months of killing my fingers I figured I would spend a few bucks and get it fixed. In about 30 seconds Billy from B & D Repair (highly recommended if you are in the Phoenix area) said in all reality this was a money pit that would never get anywhere.

After a good discussion of what my playing level was and where I wanted to go with my guitar experience he recommended the Yamaha FG700S as a top level entry instrument.

Immediately after picking the guitar up my playing improved, mainly due to the strings actually being close to the fret board as opposed to a few inches away. I have been playing it pretty solidly every day for the past 4 months and have really enjoyed this guitar.

Sound stays true during light strumming as well as through hard and fast pieces. No real distortion of the sound during hard playing. Unit has a nice full sound as well for a wide variety of songs. Guitar comes with coated strings, so is nice and easy to play, as well tuning stays true. I am a bit of a nut so I tune it frequently, but it is not really needed that frequently as the unit maintains its tuning quite well.
For me this has been the perfect affordable beginner guitar.

The guitar arrived on time via UPS. I wasn't home when it was delivered (it was at the apartment door).

The cardboard case was damaged and the guitar had a 1-2 inch scratch on the side of the neck. I filed no claim because the instrument:
1. remains in tune,
2. has excellent (unexpected) resonance,
3. neck is straight, and,
4. I am going to convert it into a resonator.
It is about 38" long, slightly less than standard.

Even if I wasn't about to make the conversion, I highly recommend the guitar, particularily because to the surprisingly rich sound. It also works well for bottleneck slide

If I could have found a broken, usable guitar for the conversion, I'd leave the $29.99 as is because it is certainly worth the price. I sorta hate to cut it how (but it just occured to me that it will sound very good as a resonator also.

Great Beginner

This is a great guitar if you have a child who is interested in playing. Alot better quality for the price. I checked at our Local-Walmart and there was nothing comparible at all for the price... It was a Birthday Present for our 8 year old daughter and she loves it!

He loves this little guitar

Great guitar for the price and age range - looks so much like daddy's and papa's. The product is as advertised, with the carrying case my Grandson easily brings it over with every vist. Given for Christmas he will be 3 in February, the size is perfect with room to grow.
