Great starter package

I purchased this setup because it included the case and the tuner. You definately need the tuner to keep the Ukulele in tune as you break in the new strings. There is even a pocket on the case to keep the tuner in. If you are just starting out to learn the Ukulele, I would recommend this package. Shipping was also fast.

Nice tone. The tuner was very helpful. I bought this uke as a gift for someone else, and they are very happy with it. The carrying case is very handy and makes it easy to transport from home.

great beginners book and cd
I found this to be a great introductory book on playing the uke, it starts with how to tune the instrument and goes through an easy progression of cords and songs. I especiaally liked the intro to finger picking, and the glossary of chords. The included cd was quite good and a lot of help. A good buy, well worth the purchase price.

Great Book!
I love this book! I haven't touched a ukulele since elementary school forever and a day ago. It's a very good instruction for someone who has no idea what they are doing, like myself. You learn about 6-8 chords right off the bat and play a song right after. It allowed me to progress quicker than I expected. Personally, I think the lesson plan is set up very well. Definitely glad I got this one instead.

Great instrument for the price
I went to an OMEA convention and went to a vendor stand with a variety of Ukulele and the best one there was the Lanikai S-C. I wanted to save some money so I decided to go with the LU-21C. It's the same quality of build, but has a mahogany plywood top instead of a spruce top. This means that it lacks some higher overtones (it's warmer, darker, what ever you want to say.) I've played many crappy instruments for around this price range and bellow and this one is not a crappy instrument. The only thing that needed some set up was the nut, but that is a common problem and a quick fix on most low end guitars and ukes. Most manufacturers ship such instruments out with a high nut. Are you not sure you want a ukulele? Get this one to find out.

Awesome Uke!
I have only played ukuleles by borrowing my friends'. Even though I'm only a beginner, I've played the guitar for years. Therefore, I know most of the things I should be looking for. Just like Andy said, "The action is good, no buzzing strings, fretboard is nice, neck is straight, sounds good and feels like quality construction." I agree with him. It's worth the price, you can't go wrong with it, especially if you're a beginner like me. I hope this helped!
